What quality standards are used in making the straws? All units are Certified Semen Services (CSS)-qualified and produced by USDA-inspected, professional custom collection facilities. We use a best-in-industry standard of at least 35 million cells per dose-meaning the product is not only likely to be cheaper per unit, but also likely to be the cheapest per sperm cell, by far. Pay less and get more- that’s a winning combination! Figure 1 – Sperm cell concentration comparison of BeefXDairy semen straws from major US Semen Providers, performed by UC Davis laboratory

Is there a difference in Blended Units vs. Individual Sires?Research has been inconclusive in determining whether there is a conception rate benefit to using blended sire packs. The theory behind employing blended units is diversifying your sperm population. Figure 2 below showcases the timing and viability of a single sire unit compared to the viability of an egg: The objective with AI breeding of any type is to maximize the amount of time where both sperm and egg are viable, in order to result in the highest possible conception rate. Figure 3 below showcases the theory behind utilizing blended sire packs, starting at A.I. Breeding: By stacking a high number of cells of multiple sires into one unit, we get exposure to different ranges of sperm viability – as each individual sire and individual collection can have different capacitation speed, sperm velocity, and length of viability in the reproductive tract. By increasing the overall length of time where sperm cells are viable, we can theoretically better match the viability profile of the egg, and result in potential higher and/or more consistent conception rates.
